What to Do if a Tooth Is Knocked Out or Broken

If a tooth is knocked out (avulsed):

Act quickly. Ideally, a knocked-out tooth can be re-implanted within 30–60 minutes.

Handle the tooth carefully. Hold it by the crown (top), not the root.

Do not scrub or remove attached tissue.
